Congratulations to Hao Jie Sim (MFA DSI '26) for winning the Design of the Year Award from the President's Design Awards Singapore! With the NextOfKin Creatives team, their winning design gives "seniors the chance to become lion dance performers in a safe and inclusive manner."
Check out MFA DSI faculty, Mari Nakano's quotes in a new research review on public design by the UK Government! Mari is quoted: "Whether you're a designer or not you need to be incredible at building relationships and maintaining trust." Also featured is frequent MFA DSI collaborator & Public Policy Lab Executive Director, Chelsea Maudlin.
Congrats to MFA DSI faculty and + POOL Managing Director, Kara Meyer, on the arrival of + POOL's pilot pool for NYC! This past Spring a DSI student team (Jieying Du, Xiaolan Fu, Hao Jie Sim, Ximing Wang, & Kelsey Zhang) created a field guide for the next generation of NYC water stewards, in partnership with + POOL through DSI's Communication Design class.
MFA DSI faculty Alison Cornyn's art project, Incorrigibles, premiered the film Hilda O. vs. The State of New York. Hilda was sexually abused at a NY State Training School for Girls; this is the story of her fight for justice.
Congrats to Wenqi Zhang (MFA DSI '19) for being published in CoDesign Journal! Read Wenqi's article on co-design facilitation.
