Bagels & Brew, Shabbat with Rabbi Ken & High holidays coming upThanks to all of you who came out to pack the house on Shabbat Aug. 28 — and thank you to Stephanie and Michael Rosen (and Jay Einbender) for cooking for us and opening their home. And to Liat for lending her beautiful voice. It was a pretty wonderful evening. And we’re not slowing down anytime soon. On September 4, we have Shabbat hosted by Stephen and Bonnie Wise, with Rabbi Ken and his guitar joining us. RSVP here or here. The next morning, September 5 from 8–10am, is our annual TFF Bagels, Bubbles & Brew, welcoming Jews and Israelis here for the film festival. No promises, but we hear rumors we may see some talent make an appearance. This year, we’ll have real NY bagels flown in. Thank you to the Goldbergs of Goldmountain Gallery and The Four Seasons Residences for sponsoring this event. And then, of course, the High Holidays begin September 11. We are excited to be rolling out new Mahzors this year, thanks to David and Jeanette Rosenblum. Most events will be at the Telluride Science Center, with a Tot event, Shabbat Shuva, Ask a Rabbi, Tashlich and two hikes at other locations. We’re collecting RSVPs here. One other announcement I’m especially moved to share: for the first time this year, five Telluride High School students participated this year in a 17-week study program culminating in a 12-day trip to Europe to visit concentration camps. They’ll share their experiences at the THS library on September 16 at 5:30 pm. Please come hear them and show your appreciation for the importance of what they’ve undertaken — and our gratitude to Chris Busbee, who leads this remarkable program.
