A critical strategist, futurist, or writer with a vision? A dreamer, movement builder, or collaborator ready to support our futures? As an MFA DSI social design student at the School of Visual Arts, you will join others like you, an expansive alum community, real-world partners, and experienced faculty who are asking: How can design offer pathways that shift us towards more healthy, equitable systems? What conditions and collaborations enable communities, systems, and nature to thrive? How can social design increase care and capacity for change for people and the planet? MFA DSI is looking for passionate, committed people from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds curious about the well-being of our people, systems, and the earth. We welcome design-curious individuals with a breadth and depth of experience who might find other disciplines too confining, people who like to act as much as they like to think, and who want to engage with the world creatively and responsibly. MFA DSI students work with organizations, design studios, agencies, governments, non-profits, NGOs, and global consultancies. Our 250+ graduates are starting new initiatives and businesses, serving in communities, building lasting relationships, and bringing their brightest thinking to organizations, companies, startups, and government agencies.
