From Artists' Books to Zines

The From Artists' Books to Zines Symposium is a new initiative from UNT Special Collections in conjunction with our Biennial Artists' Book Competition to provide students and other attendees interested in the book arts field an opportunity to connect with other artists and creators working in the medium, foster engaging scholarship and discussion related to the field and honor and celebrate the participants and winners of the 2023-2024 Artists' Book Competition cycle.

The symposium will feature curated panels, a keynote, the launch of a browsable zine library, a collaborative zine making workshop, a pop up exhibit, reception and more. The symposium will be held in Willis Library on Saturday, March 23, from 8 AM - 4 PM. Get more information or register to attend on the libraries website.

Honors Thesis Camp

Need to work on your honors thesis? Come do it at the library! Willis 250J is reserved the last Tuesday and Wednesday of every month for Honors students to focus on researching and writing their thesis. Snacks and swag are available while supplies last, and research assistance is available on-site from 11 AM - noon. If you need additional research assistance outside of these hours, or a laptop for use during the workshop, email your librarian at Madison.Brents@unt.edu. Stay in 250J after the camp for help with your writing. The Writing Center Tutors will be here from 5 - 9 PM.

The George and Ruth Christy Award

We strive to acknowledge and express appreciation for our employees' hard work and accomplishments at UNT Libraries. But as carefully as we pay attention, we don't always catch every good deed or above-and-beyond action that takes place in our Libraries or virtually through our digital resources. And often, it is you, the user, who is the direct witness and beneficiary of exemplary staff service.

As a way of celebrating and acknowledging outstanding staff and faculty contributions in the UNT Libraries, we will be rewarding our best and most helpful service employees with a $500 award, funded by a generous endowment created by George and Ruth Christy, long-time members of the UNT community.

Users will nominate library staff or faculty members deserving of this esteemed reward. If you have had an exceptional experience with one of our employees and would like to nominate them for this award, please share your story with us!
Nominations are due by April 1st
