NBC5/KXAS footage used in Winter Olympics commercial 

From UNT Special Collections. If you watched the Winter Olympics this month you may have seen a commercial featuring footage from the NBC5/KXAS Television News Collection

Pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly licensed footage featuring administration of the first Polio vaccine for a commercial that compared the rigors of the scientific research process to the rigors of training by Olympic athletes. Incredibly, over 60 pieces of archival footage from many different film and video archives were used in the 1:30 spot, and we were proud to be one of them. See the video.

The Kaufman County Area Newspaper Collection covers various editions of the Kaufman Sun, and The Forney Messenger. The Sun,published between the years 1880-1905, documents pre-settlement hunting grounds for Caddo, Cherokee, Kickapoo, and Comanche Tribes and trails before 1840.
