Since 2006, The Portal to Texas History at the University of North Texas Libraries has awarded more than 489 mini-grants to libraries, archives, museums, historical societies, and community organizations across Texas. The result? Over 87,386 historic items, comprised of 483,438 individual files, that have been added to the Portal and freely accessed more than 21 million times by researchers, students, and curious people everywhere. Now it's your turn to participate! The Portal to Texas History is accepting applications for the 2026 Rescuing Texas History Mini-Grant program. Each award provides up to $1,000 in digitization services as an in-kind contribution, covering scanning and describing items at the UNT Libraries, and hosting them on The Portal to Texas History.
Deadline: August 7, 2026 We want to work with you. For more information and to download the application, visit the Rescuing Texas History Mini-Grant page. |
