In the past year, Jenny and I have done three retreats—two in Napa and one in Palm Springs. Each sold out. And each are still talked about by those who attended—not because of the content but because of the connection, community, and intention.

The challenge is that a retreat can be expensive and the events often sell out quickly.

📖 THE BOOK: The Creation of Us (releases August 4)

This is the book I've been building toward for a decade of ministry and marriage work.

When I wrote Friends, Partners, & Lovers, I was just a guy passionate about marriage and reflecting on my own life. I still love the book, but this one is different.

The Creation of Us is the byproduct of ten years of research and working with couples. My goal was to write a book that would be meaningful to the average reader and accepted in the world of academia. I hope it’s both well-researched and practical.

A good marriage isn’t a math problem. This book doesn’t have a formula for success. But it does show the pathway couples use to build the marriage they want. It covers often overlooked issues like attachment, attention, and a definition of marital health. But it also covers traditional issues of communication, money and sex.

The Big Idea: it’s possible to become one without losing you.

A healthy marriage is the flourishing of him, her, and us.
