A wonderful June! Thank you to everyone who joined us for Judge Roy Altman's program. We welcomed 120 attendees from the Jewish community, the broader Telluride community, and visitors from around the country, filling the venue. Special thanks to Judge Roy Altman, moderator and new TJC board member Estee Portnoy, Stephanie Rosen, Christ Church, and our generous sponsors for making the evening such a success.

We also had a fantastic Young Adult Moroccan Brunch, where 13 community members gathered for great food and conversation. Thank you to Aaron Goldstein and Reuven Tanny for hosting, TJC board member Hannah Kupferschmid for organizing, and Chef Dustin Chilton for the delicious meal.

From Collapse to Clarity: Justice, Loss & the Power of Mindfulness

Join us on July 31 at 6 PM for a Shabbat dinner and conversation with Harley Tropin, lead counsel for the victims and families of the Champlain Towers South collapse. Drawing on his experience navigating one of the most complex and emotional legal cases in recent history, Harley will reflect on the pursuit of justice in the face of tragedy—and the role mindfulness, resilience, empathy, and human connection played along the way. He will also share insights from his forthcoming book on the skills that help us lead, connect, and thrive in challenging times.

Brief Shabbat service • Potluck dinner • Conversation and Q&A • RSVP now as space is limited

From our friends at the Durango Jewish Community:

Join the Durango Jewish Community for a special Shabbat in Elul with Jewish mindfulness teacher Alison Cohen on August 21–22. Enjoy a musical community Shabbat on Friday evening (free), followed by a Saturday afternoon retreat featuring meditation, contemplative song, Jewish wisdom, and reflection as we prepare for the High Holidays. Cost for Saturday: $25–45.

Consider making a weekend of it—carpool, spend the night, and connect with our neighbors in Durango. They'd love to welcome members of the Telluride Jewish Community! Email for info.

From our friends at B'nai Butte in Crested Butte:

Join B'nai Butte for the Colorado premiere of a new documentary celebrating the remarkable life and career of Tovah Feldshuh, beloved Broadway star and acclaimed for her portrayal of Golda Meir. The event takes place during Crested Butte's vibrant Wildflower Festival and Arts Fair weekend (July 30–August 4), making it a wonderful time for a mountain getaway. Children are welcome, and B'nai Butte is happy to help visitors with travel and lodging recommendations. Email for info.
