The Story Behind The Creation of Us

Yesterday I was touring a Cathedral built five hundred years ago. Do you know what I noticed? The trusses supporting the roof were all triangular. That’s not an accident. The triangle is the most durable force in geometry. Why? Because when weight is added, a triangle does two things: It stays connected while also staying differentiated.

Separate and together. That helps build a cathedral that lasts and a marriage as well. This is why the central image of my new book is a triangle. Not the old cheesy illustration of the closer you get to God, the closer you get to each other triangle. But a triangle with three main angles—him, her, and us (and, hopefully, with God being a part of all three).

Stop Guessing In Marriage (EP103)

In this episode, I talk about the question so many people struggle to answer (“How’s your marriage?”) It shouldn’t be that difficult to discern. Yet our hesitation to answer that question shows a deeper problem—we often don’t see our marriage as it’s own thing. (And yes, I used those dashes before AI came along.)
